Middle School, High School and Undergraduate Student Research Presentation Competition

Call for Abstracts 

Calling all middle school, high school and undergraduate students who would like to present their science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) research!
Now accepting middle school student research poster presentations!

We invite you to PRESENT and COMPETE at the 2017 AISES National Conference in Denver, CO this September 21-23, 2017!  This call is for both oral and poster research presentations.

This is an excellent opportunity to present your research to a broad audience, practice your presentation skills, add a presentation citation to your resume/CV, and compete for awards and prizes!


  • Current AISES member.  http://www.aises.org/membership
  • Current middle school (poster only), high school (poster only) or undergraduate student.
  • Research presentations should fall within the following disciplines: STEM, STEM education, traditional knowledge, and other disciplines appropriate for an AISES conference.

How it Works

  • ORAL Presentations: To submit an oral research presentation please fill out the online form, and select the oral research presentation option in the field “Presentation Type”
  • POSTER Presentations: To submit a poster presentation please fill out the online form, and select the poster research presentation option in the field “Presentation Type”
  • AISES encourages research collaborations, however only ONE presenter is allowed for both oral and poster presentations with the exception of middle school and high school students who are allowed to present in pairs if desired.  You are welcome to list co-authors in the Research Abstract Form.

Middle School, High School and Undergraduate student research proposals will be accepted on a ROLLING basis until all spots are filled.

  • Proposals submitted by July 15, 2017 will receive 100% discounted registration, once accepted.
  • Proposals submitted AFTER July 15 and BEFORE August 15 will receive 50% discounted registration, once accepted.
  • Middle school student proposals will receive a complimentary registration. 
  • High school and undergraduate student proposals will still be accepted after August 15, but with no registration discount.
  • Wait to register for the Conference! — wait until after your research is accepted and after you receive the proper registration code.  All refunds subject to the Cancellation and Refund Policy.

  • You will need to create an account to fill out the online application and submit your abstract.  Please keep the information to your account in case you are required to submit edits.
  • Please review the Research Abstract Form examples prior to submitting, examples are available within the online application.
  • You must download, complete, and then upload the Research Abstract Form (word doc) provided within the online application, no other file types or formats will be accepted.
