The Graduate School Diversity Office supports and enhances graduate education by serving in an advisory capacity, leading initiatives, and collaborating across the University of Minnesota system. Our work encompasses recruitment, funding, retention, advocacy, and education that prioritizes domestic graduate students who identify as Indigenous and/or People of Color, inclusive of their intersectional identities, as they have been historically excluded in graduate education.

Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP)

The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is a free summer program for students to explore their interests in medicine, dentistry, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, public health, and more. The program takes place at our 11 partner institutions and offers students a chance to develop competencies for becoming successful applicants to health profession programs, plan academic journeys, get clinical exposure, and network.

Society of Indigenous Physicists

We are Indigenous Peoples who are interconnected through our paths in the fields of physics, astronomy, planetary sciences, as well as those whose paths intersect these disciplines in related fields like engineering.
We currently hold or are on track to complete undergraduate, masters, and Ph.Ds in our respective fields. We are in academia, industry, consultants, and in the non-profit spaces.

Salt River Project
