The Agnese Nelms Haury Program (Haury Program) at the University of Arizona supports Native American Resilience through collaboration, research and partnerships respecting Native American knowledge and sovereignty. We are part of the Arizona Institute for Resilience and collaborate with the Indigenous Resilience Center. We envision a world in which tribal resilience, sovereignty, and ways of knowing are respected and advanced to meet STEM challenges.
Our partner, the Indigenous Resilience Center (IRes), centers Indigenous ways of knowing into co-designed environmental solutions and training the next generation of community leaders. Providing support for Indigenous students, staff and faculty while modeling and teaching respectful tribal engagement, IRes is a hub for place based Indigenous resilience solutions, scholarship, outreach and teaching. Their values of Relationship, Respect, Reciprocity, and Responsibility are the foundation of their work.
